New ways to look at old things
I decided to try spicing up my photography with formal projects. Formal in the sense that the criteria are predefined, and I have a specific end goal.
With that in mind, I thought about some of the recurring themes or motifs that I keep seeing in the world around me, and in my pictures. Slices was the immediate answer. Portrait format pictures, or perhaps even 1×3, that have consistent proportions in any combination of three. For example: there are photos with 1/3 sky, 2/3 foreground, and others with 2/3 sky, 1/3 foreground, and so on. This project is about color and shape.
Above is the first installment of this “Slices” project. More to come soon, enjoy!
